1942 Indian Chief Bobber
Willie from Akron, Ohio, United States made available these photos of his 1942 Indian Chief Bobber.
Willie: "This 1942 flat head 80 cubic inch, is 10 over. Ready to cruise. Foot cluch, left hand shifter and right hand gas. This is a classic Indian motorcycle. Has been rebuilt and is ready to ride. Engine and frame have matching numbers. Has a 12 volt system. This old iron horse has new life and is strong. When you fire her up, she sounds like a 1942 Indian Chief, and heads turn."
Willie reports that this Indian flathead bobber was stroked to 80 cubic inches by installing a crankshaft with a longer stroke.
Note that this is not a hardtail. This Indian frame has a built in rear end springer suspension.
Typical Indian springer fork, with a single leaf spring instead of coil springs.
